How to Program a Gliderol TM305C / TM-315 Compatible Remote (GRD2000, GTS2000, Rollamatic, Optima)

Coding a compatible Gliderol TM305C or TM-315 remote to a GRD2000, GTS2000, Rollamatic or Optima opener: remove the cover, press the program button and hold button A on the remote until the red light goes out.

Before you start Make sure nobody is standing under or near the door while you program and test. Do this within a few metres of the motor so you can test straight away. Keep the remote and its battery away from children; if a coin or button cell is swallowed, seek immediate medical attention. If you need to open the motor housing, switch the power off first and only remove the cover the manual refers to. If you are not confident working near the motor, ask a garage door technician.

Gliderol openers learn a new remote through a program button on the motor's circuit board. The steps are the same for the Rollamatic and Optima ceiling motors and for the GRD wall unit; only the cover you remove is different.

Before you start

Unplug the motor before removing any cover, then plug it back in for programming. You have a 5-second window between pressing the program button and holding the remote, so have the remote ready in your other hand.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Remove the cover

    For a Rollamatic or ceiling motor, remove the light cover from the motor. For a GRD wall unit, remove the cover from the wall-mounted control box.

  2. Find the programming button

    Locate the remote programming button on the motor's circuit board. It is a small push button with an LED next to it.

  3. Press the program button once

    Press the program button once and immediately release it. A red light comes on next to the button. If no red light appears, you have pressed the wrong button, so try another.

  4. Hold button A or 1 on the new remote

    Within 5 seconds, press and hold button A (or button 1) on the new remote. Keep holding until the red light on the motor goes out.

  5. Test and refit the cover

    The remote is now coded. Press the button to test the door, then refit the light cover or wall unit cover.

I do not have my original remote. Can I still program this one?
Yes. This remote pairs directly with the Gliderol motor or receiver using the learn button, so an original remote is not required.
I have two Gliderol motors. Which button do I use?
Use button A or button 1 for every motor. The motor decides which remote button operates it, so program each motor using the same button A / 1 on the remote.
The red light did not come on after pressing the button.
You have pressed a different button on the board. Look for the button that lights a red LED beside it when pressed once.
The red light came on but never went out.
You took longer than 5 seconds to press the remote. Press the program button again and hold the remote button straight away.
Does the remote come with a battery?
Yes, a battery is pre-installed. If the LED on the remote does not light when you press a button, replace the battery before troubleshooting the programming.
